Paris with Kater (Day 3)

Sorry for the Delay! I'll tell you guys all how the last day in Paris was and then the next blog post will be about my moms visit! (she left yesterday :( but hopefully will be back again soon :) )

Monday was our last day in Paris and we decided to spend it doing a little shopping :) We slept in and then headed up to the northern border of the city to a flea market called Marche aux puces. I left my camera battery at the apartment so there are less photos of this day (some might view that as a good thing when thinking about the amount of photos in the previous posts ;) ) It was filled with cool antiques, paintings and pretty much anything you could think of! Kate was in search of a small painting that could easily be lugged back to England, wasn't too expensive and spoke to her. we didn't end up finding anything but it was fun looking for them :)
Can always use a second hand fur scarf.. legs and head intact

The little one got jealous when i pet the friendly one... typical ;)

yep

This one store had all this cool old light fixtures and letters, i wanted to buy stuff but i wasn't sure what i'd do with it!

Once again i wanted these but, well, you know

Across the street from this outdoor market type area there was a large indoor, super fancy smancy antique things. We didn't stay there but enjoyed the wall art with all the action stars, cartoons and gods combined.

This is were the serous antiquers came... the ones with loads of moneys at least
We found a nice French restaurant close by and sat outside. We got some amazing french onion soup followed by a beautiful vegetable quiche and Kate got this raw meat dish that looked good (but i was not brave enough to try).

I wish i had a better picture of this lady cus she was too cute.

We headed down to the Opera to walk around there a bit. We stuck our heads in a few designer stores also along the way. The two very fancy french grocery stores are near by so we went down there to get some cute little gifts :) In Fauchon I got some very fancy green tea for my mother in law and in Hediard I got some very fancy mint tea for my mother! They were fun purchases to make :) The stores both had such fancy specialty samples too... i love beautiful french things! My knee started to bother me (i guess i went a little crazy with the amount of walking we did and so we took a break at Starbucks).
did a panoramic of the opera... don't know if it worked that well

This is from a store window, the clothes were really cute but then again most expensive clothes are!

I love you beautiful french grocery store

A pretty church we didn't go in...

After our break we walked down Rue Saint Honore to do some real fancy shopping! The Chanel had all these teenagers camped out in front of it and we later figured out that Rihanna was inside.. love me some ReRe! Kate took me into a few shops with some of the most beautiful bags I'd ever seen! I want a longchamp leather bag weekend bag... maybe one day :)

We headed down to the Concord stop and hoped onto a train back to our apartment. we did a little more window shopping and then rested before dinner time. We'd made reservations at this sweet little restaurant next to Shakespeare and Co called Le Petit Chatelet. There was an open fireplace in the main seating area were they toasted your bread and cooked some of the meats. It made the place smell so wonderful. I had a wonderful goat cheese and pesto tart while kate had a beautiful soup. for our main course Kate had rabbit and I had an artichoke mousse. Mine came with strips of Duck meat on them which I was hesitant to eat at first. Kate insisted though and i ate one. It took me a very long time to eat but it was quite wonderful :)

The open fireplace
After dinner we visited Shakespeare and Co one for time and few cool internationals who worked there. Because of my knee we didn't go for a long walk that night but did make it slowly back to out apartment.

Kate and I parted very early in the morning at the subway station heading to our different forms of transportation. It was bittersweet parting with a best friend but It was one of the best trips I've ever been on! Thank you so much Kate for everything, love you lady!!
